Stephen Baddeley - Agent 2007 looking totally confused by it all |
The 21st World Scout Jamboree takes place at Hylands Park, Chelmsford in the summer of 2007 and there are lots of different opportunities to experience the magic of a World Scout Jamboree.
These opportunities are usually limited to being part of the UK Contingent. But with the Jamboree being hosted in the UK, it gives adult members more ways than normal to be involved.
A fact sheet aimed to set out the different ways adults can be involved, and where to go for more information has been produced and is available to download - [ HERE ]
SUMMARY OF ADULT OPPORTUNITIES
Why not get involved as a member of the International Service Team (IST), the backbone of the Jamboree where you could be doing one of thousands of different tasks from running activities, working with the transport team to supporting the food distribution or site operations teams - [ HERE ]
You can also volunteer to be part of the Jamboree Organising and Delivery Teams (JOT / JDT) where there are many opportunities to be involved in the planning of the event by using specialist skills and qualifications and through management experience - [ HERE ]
You could also lend your hand to putting the site together by joining the Jamboree Build/Take Down Team . You could be putting up tents, laying cables, building gateways to sorting out banners and fabrics. - build@scouting2007.org
If you have specialist activity skills you could volunteer to help out the Off Site Programme Team to support the adventurous activities at Splash! (the water activities day) and Gilwell Adventure - splash@scouting2007.org, gilwell.adventure@scouting2007.org
Why not try you hand at hosting international visitors during Home Hospitality (Ho Ho) and give an experience of ‘typical British life’ to Scouts from other countries and help to bring the international nature of Scouting to your family - hoho@scouting2007.org
And there’s also the opportunity to be a Day Visitor and take part in a range of different activities, take a tour of the site and watch a special show in the main arena - www.thejamboree.org/dayvisitors or course you could also be part of the Cast and sing and dance during the Jamboree ceremonies - cast@scouting2007.org
