Mountain Biking
Mountain Biking
Do not be fooled into thinking that to be mountain biking you need a mountain. Mountain Biking is the activity most people take part in if they are riding a bike off road, this includes trails, e.g. High Peak trail, Tissington Trail, etc.

Mountain Biking is a fantastic activity to do within Scouting. It is one of the few activities that can be almost totally inclusive and each member of the group taking part can get something out of their ride.

With the current Scout Permit scheme, activities (including Mountain Biking) in Terrain Zero need no Permit to run. With this in mind we are planning to run some training days for people interested in taking groups out Mountain Biking in any of the Terrain levels. There will initially be two sorts of training offered:

Basic training - is for those interested in taking a group out cycling and will concentrate of safety, group management and putting fun into the ride.

Technical training - is for those interested in leading over technical trails and will look in more detail at hazard management and the instruction of group members.

If you are interested in Mountain Biking and would like a training day designed around your specific needs/area then that could also be arranged.
