Programme
As a Leader, your main job is to provide quality programmes of activities in the eight Programme Zones. Unit programmes contains ideas on how to plan programmes and practical activities for each of the Zones. A Balanced Programme lies at the heart of the Explorer Scout programme.
There are eight Programme Zones, each with its own aims for the Explorer Scouts taking part in activities in that Zone. The Programme Zones for Explorer Scouts are:
- Outdoors
- Skills
- Physical Recreation
- Community Service
- Environment
- International
- Relationships
- Values
How do we go about it?
Unit programmes should always show the following underlying values and ways of working:
- fun
- getting on with others
- activity
- keeping the Promise
- personal development

- responsibility
As part of the Balanced Programme across the Programme Zones, the Unit should experience a variety of Methods through the programme. This will make meetings and activities more interesting and appeal to more Members. Unit programmes gives suggested activities in each Programme Zone.
