Competitions
To get some activity events moving throughout the County, we shall be having a number of Trophies awarded annually to be competed for between the Local Network groups. We are still working these out, but from the number of groups that have expressed an interest in going overseas, the first challenge trophy will be the Odyssey Trophy. This and other Trophies will be awarded at the County Annual General Meeting when it is held each year, in ealy Autumn for the preceding year. See below for the rules of each Challenge.
Odyssey Trophy
The Trophy will be awarded to the Local Network group that has ventured the furthest on any one expedition. To calculate this, the distance as the crow flies to the expedition point will be taken, and then multiplied by the number of participating members.
Adjudication will be by your County Scout Network Commissioner, Tony Cadwallader - and ACC International, David Johnson.
Other Trophies
We shall put in place additional Trophies for the group that has gone the lowest, for those lovers of potholing, climbed the highest, got the wettest for canoeing and sailing enthusiasts, flown the furthest for the air activities groups, an environmental trophy for some good purpose, and a Trophy for what is considered to be the most original event of the year. There may be others as we get our heads together - let's go for it.
General Rules of Competion
- Only Registered members of Network shall be included in the calculation of participants
- In the event of a tie, the length of the expedition journey on arrival at the expedition point may be taken into consideration
- All paperwork shall have been submitted for the event
