Types of Network

These will depend on demand and population of areas. There may be 'local' Networks attached to a District or a Network shared and supported by two or more Districts. In addition there will be specialist Network groups i.e. water activities or climbing as well as Gang Show and camping abroad Network Groups.

Network is essentially a County organisation, but a District may decide to have a District Network, in which case, to maintain continuity of Networking, this has to be agreed by The County Commissioner as well as the County Scout Network Commissioner before it can go ahead so that everyone agrees on how it should proceed and be administered. Please see the next section regarding the sort of agreement that needs to be in place.

Short term Network groups can be set up for special projects or international visits etc. Not forgetting all those going off to University who can still keep in touch and you can always join a Network group at where you are. If there isn't one, start one.

Best of all you get to choose which Network you want to belong to. You may belong to more than one Network.

Network Meeting arrangements for Network are to be flexible and you will have the chance to do as little or as much with the Network as you choose. You may choose to work independently and take up the opportunities that will be on offer to members of the Scout Network. Each Scout Network can choose a name which can be based on the area which it serves or anything else.
