Awards and Decorations

The Awards

The Association has a National Awards System for recognising good service, length of service and special acts of heroism, courage, endurance and devotion to duty under suffering. Being a national system affords it status and allows all applications to be judged objectively according to national criteria.

Except in the case of recognition of length of adult service, awards are not made automatically, and proper and detailed justification must be made in every case.

The County Appointments & Awards Sub Committee review all citations carefully before these are sent to the Awards Board at Gilwell Park. If any help or advice is required regarding a citation, please contact the County Office.

In all cases, Award Application forms should be sent to the County Secretary for presentation to the next Appointments and Awards Committee sitting. These dates are available on the County Meeting Planner at the foot of the main Leadership page.

Much more information than appears here, is contained in the Booklet - Applying for Decorations and Awards, and is available from County Office, a copy of which should be available to all District Awards Secretaries.

You may download a copy of the Good Service Award form GS [ HERE ]
