SAFETY POLICY - IMPLEMENTATION

Be aware of Responsibilities

Be aware of the Policy from the SCS Exec

• You are not alone! Don't panic!
• There is a County Safety Sub-Committee
• Bob Marsh is Chair - check the District Directory
• There is a County safety Advisor - Keith Ramsey
• There is ScoutBase and Fact Sheets - see Links Page
• The County Web Site has a Section on Safety

Think through an Action Plan

• Talk with other Districts who have been there
• Develop a District Policy - Copy good practice from other Districts
• Meet with Groups - GSLs and Chairs
• Appoint a District Advisor

At the very least

• Adopt the Scout Association or County Risk Matrix
• Safety on every agenda for every District and Group Exec
• Record in Executive Minutes
• Develop a written audit trail
• Accident Books and 'Near Misses'
