Leaders part way through their Training
If you began your leader training under the old adult training scheme (i.e. Initial, Introductory, Leadership 1, Leadership 2) then you will only need to do some of the modules in the new adult training scheme. Outlined below is the plan for helping you to progress to your wood badge under the new scheme:
Leaders who have completed only Initial training - done in districts by the ADC(AT) and have not done any County training courses:
You will be given a training adviser (TA) who will help you to decide which modules you still need to complete and how you would prefer to do your training (courses, e-learning etc). If you are a leader working in a section then you will have to complete modules 5 and 7 - 19. If you are a GSL or commissioner you will have to complete modules 5, 7-10 and 20-26. It may be that through your work, hobbies or previous scouting experience that you are already competent in some of the training modules and do not need to do any further training. Your TA will help you to agree a learning plan and will support you through your training.
Leaders who have completed the county Introductory course only:
You will not be given an individual TA, but we have run over 10 training surgeries in 2004 for these leaders. If you were unable to attend any of these events, then please contact your Local Training Manager (LTM) who will give you information about future surgeries that are being organised within Districts.
Modules 16-18 will be run as shown on the Training Dates page and you can apply for these, using the form on this site, without having to wait to be seen by a TA at one of these surgeries.
